My Approach
I believe that trauma, anxiety, and relationship struggles are not signs of something “wrong” with you — they are natural responses to experiences that left your body and mind feeling unsafe or unseen. Healing begins by helping your nervous system find safety again, so you can feel calm, connected, and confident in daily life.
My work is informed by Schema Therapy, Somatic practices, CBT, Attachment-based approaches, and Polyvagal Theory. This means we look at how your early experiences shaped your patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating — while also working directly with the body’s stress responses. Through gentle awareness, breath, movement, and grounding, we help your nervous system move from survival mode toward safety and connection.
Our sessions move at your pace. We might begin by building safety and stabilisation, then explore the deeper roots of distress, and finally focus on growth, integration, and self-trust. The therapeutic relationship itself is central — a space where you can be met with empathy, consistency, and genuine care. In using the client-psychotherapist relationship to explore and create change, it is essential that sessions are regular – usually weekly, but not less than fortnightly while in the active phase.
My goal is to help you reconnect with your body’s sense of safety, understand yourself with compassion, and feel more empowered in your life and relationships.
Each session is approximately 50 minutes’ duration and currently conducted either online via Teams or by phone. Details for these sessions will be emailed prior to the session.
