My Therapeutic Approach

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all.

My approach is adapted to your experiences, needs, goals and sense of safety. Below are some of the methods I draw on when working with you.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-informed therapy recognises how past experiences can affect your emotions, relationships, thoughts and sense of safety. Therapy focuses on creating a safe, supportive and empowering space where you can work at your own pace, build coping strategies, and develop a greater sense of safety and choice.

Schema Therapy

Schema therapy explores deeply held patterns and beliefs that can develop from early life experiences and influence how we think, feel and relate to others. Together, we can identify unhelpful patterns, understand where they come from, and develop healthier ways of responding, relating and caring for yourself.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy recognises the connection between the mind and body and how experiences such as stress and trauma can be held in our physical responses. Therapy gently brings awareness to body sensations, emotions and nervous system responses, helping you develop greater calm, safety and connection with yourself.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy explores the connection between your thoughts, feelings, physical responses and behaviours. It can help you recognise unhelpful thinking patterns, develop more balanced perspectives, and build practical strategies to manage anxiety, stress, low mood and everyday challenges.

Attachment-Based Approaches

Attachment-based therapy explores how early relationships and experiences can influence the way we connect with others. It can help you understand relationship patterns, build emotional security, strengthen boundaries and develop healthier connections.

Polyvagal-Informed Practice

Polyvagal-informed practice considers how the nervous system responds to experiences of safety, stress and threat. It can help you understand your body’s responses and develop practical strategies to support regulation, calm and a greater sense of safety.
